Performing Arts Camp
Experience
July 13th - July 24th

The Mission
For the past 17 years, the Festival's successful Performing Arts Camp has recognized the importance of student involvement in the arts.
We are dedicated to bringing a comprehensive experience to young artists by introducing them to a variety of performing arts disciplines taught by world renowned creators and educators. Tuition for PACE is underwritten 100% by the Festival thanks to the generosity of our donors

The Experience
Over the course of our two-week camp, young performers will gain knowledge and experience in acting, improv, vocal technique, dance, movement, songwriting, and creative expression.

The experience culminates with a showcase on the final Friday entitled “THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENS”, where their hard work and dedication will be on display for all to see – and to marvel at just how much they learned and accomplished in 10 camp days!

The showcase is open for anyone to attend and is always packed with an enthusiastic audience of friends, family, and festival supporters!

Each day begins with a vocal warmup and ensemble rehearsal for group numbers. Students split into smaller groups and rotate through the disciplines, having the chance to work with each teacher daily:
-
Vocal coaching – each student brings in a musical theatre song of their choice and receives individual instruction on vocal technique, musical interpretation, and acting the song
-
Dance/movement – campers of all skill levels will work on expanding their dance skills and learn choreography for group numbers, with an emphasis on moving your body, gaining confidence, and having fun!
-
Acting – through group exercises, improv, and one-on-one interaction, each student gains knowledge and more comfort onstage
-
Songwriting/creative expression – campers work on the creation of original songs, both in musical structure and through poetry/lyric writing
-
Each day closes with another group session, in preparation for the upcoming showcase performance!
